
Schooling has become part and parcel of learning, right from kindergarten to adult class. And to be in consonance to this tenet, the Lagos schooling system was fashioned out. Irrespective of anyone’s demographics or philosophical leanings, you can always get access to education. So to this end, it becomes highly important to always be updated on prices of all categories of education facilities available for any specific IQ level.
It is also equally important to understand that the price of any private school to that of public school (which is funded by the government) at the same class level will be much higher.
From Kindergarten to Primary
The fee for pre-nursery ranges from NGN 10,000 – NGN1,000,000. These are for ages between 1-3 years old.
The fee for primary grade range from NGN 10,000 – NGN3,000,000. These are for the age bracket of 6-12 years old.
Special needs education
For people with special needs, the fee for private establishments can cost between the range of NGN 50,000 – NGN1,200,000 above. And in most cases, age isn’t a parameter for enrolment so as long as their guardians are prepared to commit to their developments.
Junior secondary Senior secondary school
Junior secondary fall into the category of basic education —a compulsory education level every student must pass through as regards to 6-3-3 international education system. The annual tuition fee for junior secondary ranges from NGN 50,000 – NGN3,500,000. And this is expected to last for 3 years.
Senior secondary last for 3 years. It is also a compulsory level of 6-3-3 Nigeria education system every student is equally required to pass through. The annual tuition fee for senior secondary ranges from NGN 50,000 – NGN3,850,000.
Adult education center
The fee for adult education range from NGN 30,000 – NGN100,000. These special classes are specifically put in place for elderly people; which in most cases aid them to read and write.
Advanced level (A-Level) academic centers
A-Level school fee varies from school to school in Lagos State. And the cost of enrolling and sitting for this exam is between NGN 349,999 – NGN 625,000.
Lesson classes and university preparatory, or extra tutorials centers
Outside the main study class that all pupils are committed to, there are optional lesson classes they may have to enroll for. Lesson classes may be offered privately or in groups. And the fee usually ranges from NGN 500 – NGN 25,000 per hour.
Candidates preparing for UTME, IJMB, and other pre-degree programs for gaining admission into the university can pay NGN 6,000 or more per month for tutorial classes. These tutorial classes are very effective at helping them prepare well for the forthcoming 4-5 subjects exams.
Artisan and technical school
Some technical schools are formal in setting and there are others not. Those not formal in setting usually involve a local artisan that has been duly certified and recognized in that field of practice. The formal technical ones can cost between NGN 50,000 – NGN550,000. This pricing also applies to non-formal ones too.
